During the first week after your hair transplant surgery (both for FUE technique and for FUT technique) at Dr. Özlem Biçer MD Clinic leave the transplanted part in the open air as much as possible, avoiding the use of hats and toupees if not absolutely necessary. Do not use hair products (such as gels, creams, hair sprays, etc.) for at least 2 weeks.

Avoid the sun exposure of the transplanted area for at least 12 weeks as a possible burn will delay the rapid recovery. It is therefore recommended to use the hat Dr. Özlem Biçer MD gave you after your hair transplant procedure.

In order to avoid infections, it is advisable not to expose yourself to environments with bad and unhealthy air for the first 2 weeks. Any redness and any pus-filled pimples should be reported immediately to Dr. Özlem Biçer MD. Infections are however very rare.

Scar crusts with or without strands of hair will generally fall within 7 to 14 days after your hair transplant surgery (both for FUE technique and for FUT technique) at Dr. Özlem Biçer MD Clinic while most hair will fall approximately after 4 weeks.

Do not worry, those hairs are not lost, the transplanted follicles are firmly anchored in the dermis and will begin to produce new hair that will be visible after about 3-4 months after surgery. These hairs will initially be very thin and will start growing thicker and thicker in the following months.

We recommend you to avoid sauna, Turkish bath or SPA for at least 4 weeks after the your hair transplant surgery (both for FUE technique and for FUT technique) at Dr. Özlem Biçer MD Clinic. High temperatures and humidity do not benefit from the healing process and should be avoided.
